Shaadi@barbadi.com is the latest stage play coming from Bollywood. A hilarious laugh/riot, Shaadi@barbadi.com is based on a Marathi blockbuster comedy 'Ek Lagnachi Ghosht'.
The stage play revolves around two characters played by Paresh Rawal and his wife, Swaroop Sampat.
The couple regularly meet at a bus stand. Love blossoms through frequent acquaintances. This leads to marriage.
Initially, all is well for the couple in love. They have an ideal marriage and an ideal life. But their ideal dream world of marital bliss is short lived.
A rift begins to form between the wife and her mother-in-law, whilst the husband takes the full brunt of the family feud.
So what results is a series of hilarious situations with comic mishaps which will have the audience in stitches.
Written by Umesh Shukla and directed by Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal, Shadi@barbadi.com also includes renowned television actors from India, including Ms Swati Chande, Mr Abhay Harpale and Mr Umesh Shukla.
Paresh Rawal – actor extraordinaire
Paresh Rawal is one of the finest actors that exists in present day Bollywood.
Mr Rawal started acting during his time at school. Later graduating to Gujarati theatre, he made an immense impact on the audience. His talent became widely acclaimed which led him to Bollywood.
Versatile by nature, his acting talent and total dedication allowed him to live up to any roles given to him ranging from emotional to villainous, down to comic ones.
Being part of regional cinema in India, Paresh has acted in numerous films from Telugu to Punjabi.
But his continued fascination for theatre resulted in his own production house, ‘Aangikam’.
His theatre group still perform numerous plays all over India which includes Maharathi, Mulraj Mansion, Chiranjeev and Khel, a Hindi production.
